DAZN has reportedly begun sending a letter (which you can see at the bottom of the page) requesting compensation to users who previously used illegal subscriptions to access sports content. The letter, signed by the platform, was reportedly sent to approximately 2.000 people already fined by the Guardia di Finanza as part of the anti-piracy operation conducted last September.
500 euros or other legal actions
The letter represents an attempt at conciliationDAZN is offering a lump sum compensation of €500 to be paid within seven days. In the event of non-payment, the company has announced the possibility of taking legal action and seeking further compensation.
According to reports, the recipients are the same people identified by the Lecce Financial Police during the operation that uncovered the use of illegal IPTV services. In the registered letter, DAZN demands refund for unauthorized use of its content, in particular exclusive broadcasts of the Serie A championship.
The official communication, dated September 26, 2025, states as subject “Illegal acquisition of IPTV services relating to packages for viewing live broadcasts of Serie A football matches" — the text was later shared in full on Reddit. The letter is currently circulating widely on social media.
In short, DAZN has decided to move from words to action, demanding financial compensation from former users of the "pezzotto" and threatening further legal action if they fail to comply.
