“Cultural Moments” is the long-awaited event that unites music with literature. Born under the artistic direction of Daniela Rome, Calabrian pianist internationally renowned, it is organized by Dante Alighieri Society Massachusetts, in collaboration with Dante Michigan and under the patronage of the Italian Consulates in Boston and Detroit. The important initiative, which is fully inserted among the events celebrating the 700th anniversary of the death of the great Florentine poet, includes a series of meetings, distributed between February and September of this year. Due to the pandemic, they will all be visible on the "zoom" platform.

It starts tomorrow, February 21st

"Cultural moments" will begin on February 21 with the first event that will feature the Calabrian composer and concert player Alfonso Rendano and the writers Corrado Alvaro and George Sand. Daniela Roma will perform pieces for piano solo by Rendano of which she is the exceptional interpreter. The actors Mark Zanelli ed Emanuele Capoano they will read thoughts taken from Alvaro's novel, "Gente d'Aspromonte" in Italian and English. The Calabrian Baritone Antonio Fratto he will sing excerpts from the Opera Consuelo, written by Rendano and entirely inspired by the novel of the same name by George Sand. Pianists and actors united to promote culture

"Cultural moments" will then return with other events, always centered on music and literature. The second meeting will be held on 21 March and will deal with the relationship between Claude Debussy and Eugenio Montale. On this occasion, the pianist from Puglia will perform with pieces by the French composer Marie Louise Tutalus and the Japanese pianist Manabu Takasawa. Montale's poems will be declaimed by the actors Steve Dooner ed Emanuele Capoano. The third event will follow on April 18, dedicated to the Hungarian composer and pianist Franz Liszt and to the author and poet Francesco Petrarca. This time the Sicilian pianist will perform Luana Struppa and the actors Steve Dooner e Viviana Dragoni.

"Cultural Moments" will end on September 19th. Most likely it will be held live in the hall of the Dante Alighieri Society Massachusetts. It will be entirely dedicated to the 700th anniversary of the death of Dante Alighieri. Also on this occasion, the pianist Daniela Roma will perform, who will perform Après une lecture du Dante: Liszt's Fantasia quasi sonata, inspired by the work of Dante Alighieri. The actors Mark Zanelli e Laura Ingallinella they will read some passages from the Divine Comedy.

Daniela Roma is a very talented Italian pianist, who brings the notes of the composer Alfonso Rendano to the world. Of Calabrian origins, he has lived for years in Rhode Island (USA). During her extraordinary artistic career, she has performed in the most prestigious theaters, conquering audiences all over the world with her profound sensitivity and her skill.
