Cristina Mercuri is the first Italian woman to obtain the title of Master of Wine, one of the most prestigious and selective international awards in the world of wine. Founded in 1953 in London, The Institute of Masters of Wine is an organization whose members have the mission of promoting excellence, sharing, and knowledge among the various sectors of the global wine community.

Born in Tuscany and resident in Milan for almost twenty years, Cristina Mercuri is the founder and CEO of Mercuri Wine Club, a company that combines strategic consulting and training. Through courses, projects for companies in the supply chain, and incoming activities dedicated to the international market, it promotes a more informed, modern, and inclusive wine culture.

The appointment in London came at the end of a long and complex process, requiring years of study, technical rigor, and great personal determination. Cristina Mercuri passed Stage 2 in 2022 and successfully completed Stage 3 thanks to the defense of her final thesis, dedicated to an original and timely topic: “Wine, Women and Fascism: A Visual Analysis of the Representation of Women in Propaganda in Enotria (1922–1942)”.
