The famous Calabrian crepes, typical of the Christmas tradition, they also arrive in the psychiatric department of the hospital Lamezia TermeThe initiative is promoted by Project Gideon 2.0 which in 2018 has already collaborated with the department for the creation of the “Garden of Rediscovered Thoughts”.

The green area of the hospital, in fact, has been redesigned, creating a space for plants and flowers, a paved area with gazebo and a hedge mazeThe garden is the heart of the psychiatry ward, and it's no coincidence that the hedge maze seen from above was designed with this very purpose in mind. A place for reflection, for meetings between patients and families, but also for informal conversations.
Calabrian crepes delight the palate
In these days, close to the Christmas holidays, The delicious Calabrian crepes delighted the palates of the patients and all the staff of the department of the city hospital. The initiative was born from an idea by Progetto Gedeone 2.0, in collaboration with the director Michele Rossi and the team of the Psychiatric Diagnosis and Treatment Service of the “Giovanni Paolo II” hospital in Lamezia Terme.

A small gesture to let patients experience moments of inclusion and carefree. Calabrian crepes, commonly known as "grispelle", are a typical Christmas dish. throughout the Calabrian territory. The dough is made with flour, water, brewer's yeast and a pinch of salt, but many add boiled potatoes, to make them softer. There are several variations, including a salted anchovy, a little 'nduja, or even a green or black olive.
Project Gedeone 2.0 and its commitment to inclusion
Gideon Project 2.0, of the Saints Peter and Paul volunteer community association, aims at social inclusion. In fact, it aims to offer job placement opportunities to people experiencing economic, social, and/or psychological hardship. But above all, It aims to be a place of integration and reference for the community, to break down prejudices relating to hardshipThrough its activities, it aims to mediate and alleviate the relational and emotional problems that individuals encounter both in their family and social spheres.

To achieve all this, Progetto Gedeone 2.0, together with the Libellula AFASP association – Listening Center for Discomfort, have created “Fareinsieme, relazione per l'inclusione”. A listening center that aims to bring together the Services for the Mental health to the territoryIt includes workshop activities such as music therapy, art therapy, and sports activities, as well as individual or group support and counseling.
