Art in the Time of Covid: San Benedetto del Tronto Reopens Cracking Art

Cracking Art as a message of hope and serenity: from July 18th to November 2nd the coastal town of San Benedetto del Tronto will once again be animated by colorful animals made from recycled plasticSo, summer 2020 will also be the return of art for San Benedetto. Therefore, not just socially distanced umbrellas, masks, and a ban on gatherings: the city will once again be colorful and lively. Specifically, there will be a playful invasion of about thirty giant, lively animals of various types and sizes: meerkats, elephants, dogs, cats, rabbits, and the famous snail. This will further enliven the city. a summer that feels differentfrom the others due to the restrictions imposed by the Coronavirus.

Cracking Art's Animal Mapping

Indeed, now more than ever it's important to bring the public closer to the dynamics of art. And Cracking Art has been doing this for over 25 years. But in this period, it may be essential to... begin the rebirth of an area severely affected by the lockdown. Specifically, the animal exhibition will be distributed in large and different areas of the city of San Benedetto. This will help avoid crowds. But it will also allow residents and tourists to visit and better discover the area. In fact, the exhibition will be distributed throughout the old town of the Upper Town. In particular, the famous Tower it will be the setting of a big red elephant.

Then, in Piazza Matteotti will house two mega snails, the symbol par excellence of Cracking Art production. In addition to this, the balcony of the Blue Building will host the new arrivals of artistic creation, namely a succession of peaceful red and blue cats. The fountain of the very central Piazza Giorgini will welcome animals made of recyclable plastic. Finally, two large rabbits will find their place in the “Nuttate de Lune” Garden, which two years ago hosted with great success six large red swallows.

Cracking Art breaks the mold

Specifically, Cracking Art intends to propose itself as innovation and disruption within the history of art. Precisely, an operation that evokes the break between the natural and the artificial. As well as the access from the ancient to the contemporary. With this aim, in recent years the artistic collective Cracking Art has taken its pop sculptures around the world.
