Italy could become a white zone as early as 21 June with the arrival of summer. This is because the data relating to the Covid-19 contagion curve attest more and more every day that the pandemic is strongly retreating. With the arrival of summer, therefore, the whole boot could turn white and maybe say goodbye to masks, one of the symbols of this pandemic era. The weekly monitoring data confirms the decline in the spread of the virus. Furthermore, if they remain constant over the next three weeks, they will indicate the certain date on which the whole country will be free from anti-Covid restrictions.
"There is a decrease in the epidemic taking place in all European countries and in Italy there is a decrease in all regions. The incidence is also decreasing: in fact, more regions are under 50 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants. The average age of the cases is 39 years, decreasing, and the average age of the hospitalized is 60 years. This means that the vaccination campaign on the elderly is bearing fruit ”. This was stated by the president of the Istituto Superiore di Sanità, Silvio Brusaferro, at the press conference at the Ministry of Health on the analysis of weekly monitoring data.
