Covid, the number of positives drops below 500

The total number of positive cases in our country falls below 500 thousand units. According to ministerial data, there are 13.331 new cases of Covid in Italy in the last 24 hours, for a total of 2.455.185 since the beginning of the emergency. The increase in victims, instead, it is 488, which brings the total number to 85.162. And, again, the currently positives in Italy drop below 500 thousand for the first time in weeks. To be precise they are 498.834, with a decrease of 3.219 compared to yesterday. Instead, since the beginning of the epidemic they are 1.871.189 patients discharged or recovered, with an increase in the last 24 hours of 16.062. 

They are 2.386 patients admitted to intensive care, down by 4 in the balance between entries and exits compared to yesterday. The daily admissions, again according to the data of the Ministry of Health, are 174. On the other hand, they are hospitalized in the ordinary wards 21.403 patients, down by 288 unit compared to Friday. And finally, they are 286.331 the tests for the coronavirus (molecular and antigenic) carried out in Italy in the last 24 hours. The positivity rate drops by half a point to 4,6% (yesterday it was 5,1%).

For the first time, after a long period, the number of positives drops below 500. So the game is all about vaccines and the necessary updating of the vaccination plan. According to the monitoring data, the experts reiterate: “This week, some regions have low risk, others moderate but there are still high risk regions. 

So the message is that there is a slight decrease in viral incidence but that is far from allowing case tracking to resume. Therefore the epidemic is out of control because tracing is not yet possible ”. This was stated by the Director of Prevention of the Ministry of Health Gianni Rezza. "The epidemic remains in a delicate phase and we must not loosen measures: when we loosen them, the virus starts running again. It's a stop and go. So it is better to keep the restrictions to avoid too high circulation ".

Remodeling of the vaccination campaign
