Covid, attempts are being made to accelerate the vaccination campaign: government authorities and scientific experts are aiming for 500 vaccinations per day. Meanwhile, the Minister of Health, Roberto Speranza, begins to show a cautious optimism. “I was always the toughest and most realistic one who was forced to always tell the truth. But, now, there are reasons to look forward to the next few weeks with more confidence. However, this is still a difficult moment, we must keep all precautions but over the weeks the situation will gradually improve. And, already in the spring and then during the summer, we will see a significant improvement ".
This was stated by the Minister Speranza speaking on a television broadcast this afternoon. Meanwhile, according to the data released by the Ministry of Health, the new positive cases found in the last 24 hours are 20.159 (yesterday 23.832). The new deaths are 300 (yesterday 401). The discharged healed are 13.526 (yesterday 14.598); altogether the positive cases are 571.672, 6.219 more than yesterday. The swabs carried out are 277.086; in intensive care there are 3.448 hospitalized while still remaining in home isolation 540.740 people infected with the virus.
Goal: 500 vaccinations per day
344 thousand doses of Moderna's vaccine have arrived in Italy in the last few hours in the military hub of Pratica di Mare. The vials will then be distributed in the vaccination centers of the various regions. This is the largest single load supplied by Moderna so far. "With the restart of the administration of the Oxford Astrazeneca vaccine - it is specified by the commissioner of General Figliuolo - the cargo will be recovered on March 24th. It will be added to the other 145 thousand doses still scheduled for that day. A total of 279 thousand doses will be delivered ".
Commissioner sources specify that there will not be an impact on the vaccination campaign with Astrazeneca and that the Regions are gradually reabsorbing the gap due to the suspension. The doses of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine will arrive in Italy in the second half of April. For that period, the goal is to administer 500 doses per day. This was always reported by the commissioner for the Covid emergency, Francesco Figliuolo. The commissioner, among other things, made the anti-Covid vaccine at the Cecchignola drive through in Rome.
The experimentation for Sputnik starts
“A first agreement will be signed with the institute in a few days Spallanzani for a scientific experimentation with the vaccine Sputnik.
