These are some of the points of the new ones 'Guidelines on combating Covid-19' presented by the Italian company system 118 (Sis 118), now in its second edition. The new Guidelines they are a qualified contribution, thanks to direct experience in the field, for the preparation of a unitary operating protocol. The common goal is to give a territorial response to the health emergency generated by the pandemic. Therefore we intend to raise the quality level of the clinical and therapeutic management of the patient infected with the virus. At the same time, we want to guarantee the safety parameters of all the operators of the territorial emergency system 118.

As regards the trend of infections, the data provided by the Ministry of Health confirm the regression of the pandemic throughout the national territory. According to ministerial reports, there are 2.079 new positive cases today (yesterday 2.199). The deaths of the last 24 hours are 88 (yesterday 77). The discharged healed today are 7.616 (yesterday 8.912) while the currently positive cases are 169.309 (yesterday 174.935). The swabs made in the last 24 hours are 205.335 (yesterday 220.917); the ICU patients are 626 (yesterday 688). They still remain in home isolation 164.530 people infected with the virus (176.535 yesterday)

In 2020, mortality in Italy was the highest ever recorded since the post-war period. This is attested by the Istat-Iss report according to which they were recorded overall in the pandemic period 746.146 deaths, 100.526 more than the 2015-2019 average. The regions that report significantly higher increases are Piedmont, Valle D'Aosta, Lombardy and the Autonomous Province of Trento. THE deaths from Covid-19 were more numerous among men. Furthermore, the age group in which there is a higher incidence of deaths due to virus, on total deaths, is the one among 65 and 79 years. In this class, one in 5 deaths is attributable to Covid-19.
