Covid, asymptomatic infected people are on the rise
“Some of these cases are diagnosed, others circulate freely. With vaccines, the base of infected subjects certainly decreases, but in percentage terms the number of asymptomatic patients increases. Precisely for this reason, despite the heat the numbers drop and despite the vaccination campaign, compliance with behavioral rules remains essential even during the summer ". Thus the virologist Paolo Fazii, director of the laboratory of the Pescara Local Health Authority and member of the Abruzzo Regional Technical Scientific Group (GTSR).
“Vaccination - underlines the expert - must not be an alibi. With the vaccine you can be a carrier of the virus without developing the disease or you can get mildly ill, but you are still contagious. Although the available data does not yet give us an idea of the numbers, studies show that there is a limited group of subjects who, even if vaccinated, become infected. In practice, they are infected for fewer days than people without vaccination coverage. Consequently, in percentage terms, the asymptomatic may be more than before, even if the virus circulates less ".
