Black period for Italian football: some clubs in crisis. First of all, there is concern for the situation around Genoa with the company 777 Partners which is in serious crisis.
Now there is also some concern for Cosenza, following the statements of Mayor Caruso.
These are the Mayor's statements, reported by Cosenzachannel: “I’m sorry that things aren’t going very well. I know how much the football team means to the city. Cosenza always comes first.”
On the economic situation of Cosenza the Mayor then admits: "There is news that is sad because it concerns the prospect, there are worrying signs of a less than brilliant economic and financial situation. I hope that this is not the case, that these rumors are absolutely denied and above all that we as Cosentini enjoy moments of joy, satisfaction, tranquility. We have already experienced a failure of Cosenza in the past and it was a dramatic thing from a sporting point of view and from the point of view of the image of the city, but also from an economic point of view.
Then a joke about the possible change of ownership. “New owners? There were contacts, directly to me, from an international fund that wanted to buy a Serie B team. They asked me for information which I gave, but then nothing was done for reasons that I won’t go into here.”
