Coronavirus: How the San Benedetto area is dealing with the situation

The criticized ordinance against Coronavirus

Initially, regarding the Coronavirus emergency on February 25, 2020 the President of the Marche Region, Luca Ceriscioli, signed an ordinance The restrictions apply to: in San Benedetto del Tronto, from midnight on Wednesday, February 26, 2020, until midnight on March 4, 2020, all public events of any kind are suspended; early childhood education services and schools of all levels are suspended, as are all vocational education and training programs, except for distance learning and those related to healthcare professions.

Furthermore, all educational trips, both domestically and abroad, were suspended, as were the opening to the public of museums, other cultural institutions, and libraries. However, the government is challenging the ordinance, arguing that it had caused confusion, dismay, inconvenience, and panic among the citizens of San Benedetto. Prime Minister Conte and the head of Civil Protection, Angelo Borrelli, they did not share the decision of the Region to block school activities.

Suspension of Eucharistic celebrations

But the Diocese of San Benedetto del Tronto-Ripatransone-Montalto is aligning itself with the ordinance signed by the President of the Region.
