The Ministry of Education officially published yesterday, December 11, 2024, the announcement for the second teaching competition planned for the transitional phase of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR). The Registration will end on December 30, 2024. This competition will concern both nursery and primary schools as well as secondary schools, covering both ordinary and support positions. The Government's ambitious goal is to recruit up to 70.000 new teachers by 2026, a fundamental step to strengthen the school system and meet the training needs of students and teachers.
The numbers of the Pnrr 2 of the school
After the vast majority of entries in the last competition, for the PNRR 2 it is noteworthy the reduction of availability, also thanks to a clear population decline which is of great concern to the educational institution.
The Prime Ministerial Decree (DPCM) that authorized this competition provides for the creation of 19.032 positions, divided as follows:
- 13.247 for the common seat
- 5.785 for support.

This competition represents a significant opportunity for those who want to enter the world of school, but there are some numbers that are quite discouraging. In Puglia there will be no places on ADSS, while on A022 (Italian and History in lower secondary schools) there will be 85% fewer places (from 147 to 22). A similar situation on A012 (Italian and History in upper secondary schools) with -65%, while on A026 (Mathematics) there is a -60%. Similar speeches in Campania and in other regions of the South, with peaks of -90%. But even in the North the places available are fewer since the total contingent has dropped for this Pnrr competition. In short, it will be harder but it is certainly worth trying since this is another opportunity for young people.
