Climate Index 2025. Southern cities are better places to live

Il Sun 24 Hours has published the results of the”Climate Index 2025“, the annual ranking of the provincial capitals with the best climate, drawn up by 3b Weather.

The survey takes into consideration the climate data relating to the last decade 2014-2024, detected by the team of meteorologists of 3Bweather, of the group Meteosolutions Srl and developed by the research office of the Sun 24 Hours, while the final score is awarded based on 15 climate parameters, re-parameterized from 0 to 1000.

The ranking of the cities with the best climate

At the top of the ranking is the city of Bari with the best climate.

The first place of the capital of Puglia confirms that the cities of the South They have the ideal climate to live all year round, in fact in the top 10, cities like also appear Enna, Chieti e Catanzaro.

The top ten also includes cities from Central and Northern Italy such as Livorno, Pesaro Urbino, Ancona e Trieste.

Which cities are outside the top 10?

Among the cities outside the top 10 is Imperia, winner in 2019 of the first edition of theClimate Index, this year dropped to 17 th.

At the bottom of the ranking are placed Caserta, Terni, Asti, Alexandria, Piacenza, Cremona, Parma e Reggio Emilia.

Climate change useful for investigation

This survey revealed other climate records in Italian cities.

The Sicilian city of Agrigento is the sunniest overall, while Venice is in first place among the cities with the fewest peaks of extreme heat.

The survey also confirms that all the internal areas of the peninsula are penalised in thetemperature range, in summer breeze and in air circulation.
