What are the Italian cities in which it is convenient to live in terms of the daily cost that citizens have to bear? There is a big difference between North and South also in this aspect, as highlighted by the analysis of the average food expenditure. Milan the most expensive is confirmed, while on the other there is the "capital" of the south, Napoli, the cheapest. The analysis conducted by Codacons, however, also takes into account other aspects, such as goods and services. For these last two aspects, it must be emphasized, the cheapest city is Pescara, which completes this Italian spending triangle.

Most expensive cities in Italy

From the point of view of food, Milan requires 47% more spending, on average, compared to Naples. For the purchase of a basket consisting of fruit and vegetables, meat, bread, fish, etc. an average of 99,24 euros is spent in Lombardy, while in Campania 67,58. But not all that glitters is gold. If Milan remains the most expensive ever, even though it includes goods and services, Naples reaches it on the podium, finishing in second place, due to other expenses. In fact, it has the highest waste tax in Italy, 507,96 euros, or 148% more than in Trento, which stops at 205 euros.

In case of dental problems it is worth moving to Palermo. Approximately 66 euros are spent on a filling, compared to an average of 174 in Aosta. Turning our gaze to the female world, for one visit to the gynecologist Naples and Catanzaro require costs from 80 to 95 euros. In Trento and Milan, on the other hand, the average is 155 euros. Prices and tariffs that appear in constant variation. All this is linked to the lifestyle and, of course, to the employment rate of the local population. There is no classification drawn up by Codacons, the analysis of which however has a clear effect: highlighting the enormous differences that still exist between the two parts of the country, considering how the inhabitants of one section could hardly afford the costs of living in the other.
