What happened in Como was sensational. The Asian federation has lodged an official complaint with the world body over acts of racism. Como denied the accusations.
The facts– A Como player, whose identity remained unknown, was accused of referring to footballer Hwang by the name “Jackie Chan”, the popular Hong Kong film star known for his martial arts films. The incident reportedly occurred during a pre-season match in Spain last Monday. Como reiterated on Tuesday that its player “he didn't say anything derogatory” and that the facts had been inflated by opposing players. According to Como, the unnamed player said: “Ignore him, he thinks he's Jackie Chan.”
The Federation's letter of complaint asks FIFA to take action and "eradicate racism on the football pitch".
