Cinecittà shows itself: discovering the legendary film sets which, in the second half of the twentieth century, made Rome the mecca of international cinema. For several years now, the Cinecittà studios have opened their doors to the public with the project Cinecittà shows itself. The cultural initiative aims to reveal to visitors the great historical and architectural heritage of the famous Fabbrica dei Sogni, of that cinema which in the Capitoline studios really experienced the roaring years with noble directors and the making of Oscar-winning films.
Cinecittà shows itself
With Cinecittà si Mostra you have the opportunity to visit the large outdoor sets and historic buildings with the exhibition itineraries set up inside them. A fascinating story of Cinecittà and the film productions that made it famous from 1937 to today that winds through the sets, costumes, props, films and period photographs. The exhibition is divided into four exhibition itineraries that tell the story of the Studios and of Italian and international cinema and the professions of cinema in an interactive way.
The visit to the museum area with the exhibition itineraries of Cinecittà si Mostra, Felliniana – Ferretti dreams Fellini, Filming in Cinecittà and Backstage – An educational itinerary for Cinecittà and the Miac (Italian Museum of Audiovisual and Cinema) can be carried out independently. While the guided tour of the permanent sets cannot be done independently but the presence of an internal guide from the education department is required. The guide accompanies i visitors and tells all the secrets and stories of the productions that have seen them as protagonists.
Between workshops, readings and animated visits
Then there is Cinebimbicittà, that is, the laboratory space dedicated to children that was created with the aim of bringing the younger audience closer to the languages and professions of cinema. To the history and protagonists of Cinecittà through a structured program of workshops, special events, family visits, readings and animated visits. The visitor can decide the time to devote to the visit to watch the videos, read the curiosities, admire the photographs and interact with the multimedia contents in complete autonomy and without the aid of a guide.

Starting from last January, guided tours of the permanent sets take place only on the Ancient Rome set, exclusively on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. During the week it will still be possible to visit the exhibition routes Girando a Cinecittà, Backstage, Felliniana with a reduced ticket. And, again, the set of A doctor in the family and the Miac (Italian Museum of Audiovisual and Cinema).
