The negotiation for the transfer of Taranto has suffered a sudden slowdown. December 13th was the closing date with x but the appointment was cancelled. The negotiation risks being wrecked due to the failure to respect the terms established by the preliminary contract. Uncertainty is therefore being created about the future of the company and the continuity of the project. Mark Campbell, head of Apex, had reassured everyone during a television interview. In fact, he had confidently declared that the guarantee was ready and that the December 16 deadline would be respected. However, it seems that the reality is very different.

Guarantee not accepted?

Despite the promises, the group would not have been able to meet the conditions requested by the League for the replacement of the surety, a crucial step for the validity of the operation. According to what are for now only unconfirmed rumors reported by the Gazzetta del Mezzogiorno, a draft surety policy would have arrived from a Spanish bank, but the latter would have been rejected from the relevant offices. This unforeseen event has created a climate of growing uncertainty, with the fear that the negotiation may fail definitively.

No extensions to Apex? Risk of exclusion

The situation is even more complex if one considers that the current Property of Taranto does not seem willing to grant further extensions to Apex, after three months of negotiations marked by continuous postponements and broken promises. In particular, the deadline for the payment of salaries and contributions for the two-month period September-October, set for Monday 16 December, could prove to be another insurmountable obstacle. If the payment were not to take place, the team would risk a new penalty, the fourth consecutive, with dramatic consequences for the standings and for the economic stability of the club. And then, at the next deadline there would be a risk the exclusion.

Group C standings turned upside down between Taranto and Turris?

For this reason the whole group C is trembling, in fact in addition to the concrete risk of exclusion of the Turris, now there is that of Taranto. According to the rules, in the case of exclusion, all matches would be cancelled so whoever won against these teams would lose points in the standings (read on further information). We await further details and, above all, a press release that can clarify the situation.
