There are 22 finalist projects for the next edition of Solar Decathlon Middle East. Among these are those presented by various Italian university centers. The first is that ofLa Sapienza University of Rome who presented a project for a completely self-sufficient house. Solar panels and a structure able to integrate with the difficult climate of Middle East: here is the house of the future according to Roman students and researchers. The complex will also be easy to build and maintain, reducing costs and resources.
Then there is the project carried out by Universities of Chieti-Pescara, Pisa, Caserta and Alghero. A single-family house able to recycle water and with zero impact, also designed for the Middle Eastern climate. The water aspect of the project is what attracted the attention of the jury the most, as it is an often underestimated problem.
