Lecce is preparing to say goodbye to 2024 with an unmissable series of events that will animate the city for three days, involving citizens and visitors in a crescendo of music, art and entertainment. In a period in which tourism is truly consistent, the cradle of the Baroque will certainly not let its visitors get bored.
The program of celebrations opens on December 30th and continues until January XNUMXst, offering a wide range of events for all tastes and ages. Today, Monday December 30: Young Talents in Piazza Libertini. Starting at 18:30 pm, the stage will be dedicated to young musical and artistic talents, with the performance of some of the kids who participated in the festival Leccegiovani, as well as other promising new talents from the local scene. It will be an evening dedicated to creativity and the discovery of new voices, including Damus Harmonium, Random Face, Aurora Ingrosso, Carola Conte, Banzi Band, Penne Infrante, Fede and the Metropolis Academy. Afterwards, at 21:00 pm, “Pop out in the city“, an initiative designed to promote healthy fun among young people, also involving students from Salento who study outside the city. The event aims to strengthen the bond between young people and their land, through an atmosphere of celebration and sharing.
Tuesday 31 December: toast in the square and music for everyone. New Year's Eve in Lecce will be a spectacular celebration, with a great musical event that will be held once again in Piazza Libertini, starting from the last hours of 2024 until the beginning of the new year. Nationally and internationally renowned artists will take to the stage, ready to make audiences of all ages dance and have fun. The evening will be opened by the Antonio Amato Ensemble, one of the historic voices of the Taranta night. Antonio Amato will bring the musical traditions of Salento to the stage, accompanied by a group of ten musicians. Following, a dive into the past with Gemelli Diversi, the famous pop-rap group symbol of the 31s, ready to bring back to life the great successes that marked an entire generation. The party will continue with DJ Jad, founder of the historic Articolo 2025, one of the most influential groups of the Italian hip-hop scene in the XNUMXs, and DJ Wlady, who will continue to make the square vibrate until the stroke of midnight and beyond. The midnight toast will be accompanied by a show of music and lights, to welcome XNUMX in style.

Wednesday 1 January: New Year's Concert at the Apollo Theater. To conclude the celebrations, on January 1, 2025, the prestigious Apollo Theater in Lecce will host the traditional New Year's Concert, an event that celebrates the beginning of the year with top-level music. The concert, organized by the Municipality of Lecce in collaboration with the Province, will feature singers Karima and Patrizia Conte, who will give the audience an exciting performance. The two artists will be accompanied by the Lecce and Salento Symphony Orchestra. The New Year's program in Lecce therefore offers a wide variety of events designed to involve everyone, from young to old, from fans of traditional Salento music to those who love more modern rhythms.
