Agrigento, Aosta, Assisi (Perugia), Asti, Bagnoregio (Viterbo), Monte Sant'Angelo (Foggia), Orvieto (Terni), Pescina (L'Aquila), Roccasecca (Frosinone) and Spoleto (Perugia) are the 10 finalists who will compete for the title of “Italian capital of culture 2025”. Last December 15 city had submitted their candidacy, but now the Jury has identified the ten projects considered most interesting. On the other hand, the cities of are left out of the race for this prestigious title Reggio Calabria, Enna, Otranto, peccioli (Pisa) and Sulmona (L'Aquila). As required by the call, the finalist cities will have to present their projects in detail to the jury, connected by videoconference. The public hearings will take place at Roma, in the headquarters of Ministry of Culture, 20 e 21 March next.

Italian Capital of Culture 2025: the titles of the finalist projects

On March 20 it will be the turn of the city of Agrigento, which will present the project entitled "The self, the other and nature. Cultural relations and transformations”. Aosta will follow with “Aosta Plural City” and Assisi with “Assisi. Creatures and creators”. Finally, Monte Sant'Angelo from Foggia and Bagnoregio from Viterbo will present their dossiers "Monte Sant'Angelo 2025: a mountain on the way"and "Being Bridges”. On 21 March it will then be the turn of the other five cities in the competition, starting with Asti, with his project "Where culture is grown”. Orvieto, on the other hand, will present the details of the dossier to the jury "Meta marvel the culture that borders”, while Pescinasi will present the project “Culture does not depopulate”. Finally, Roccasecca and Spoleto will (respectively) show the jury the dossiers“Vocations. Culture and the pursuit of happinessà"and "Culture generates energy".

After Bergamo and Brescia (Italian Capital of Culture 2023) to Pesaro (2024), which city will win the coveted title? All the finalists' dossiers are very good and the jury has a difficult decision to make. To find out the name of the winning project all that remains is to wait a couple more months.
