Tense air in Reggio Calabria where an insider said that the team had a mutiny for a prize not granted. The team has decided to issue a statement to respond to these allegations.
"With regard to some statements made by an insider within a Reggio radio station, and subsequently reported by various online newspapers, the players of Reggina 1914 intend to specify the following.
- The statements in question, as reported, are of a unique gravity and represent an unbearable insult to the seriousness and moral integrity of our team, as they connect the period of crisis of results, recorded between November and December, to a request not accepted, concerning cash prizes.
- No Reggina 1914 player, either personally or through his own agents, has ever been able to provide such news to anyone, for the simple fact that he has never made such a request to the club. We challenge anyone, at any time, to prove otherwise.
- We were the first to suffer from the aforementioned period of crisis of results, which can only and exclusively be linked to football motivations. In the name of the link with the city of Reggio Calabria and respect for the amaranth colors, we send back to the sender, with force and indignation, the label of "mutineers" or those who "didn't give a damn about their coach", and from now on we reserve the right to take legal action, to protect our image as men and players."
