The world of teaching is preparing for an explosion of new talent, with good reason 374 thousand aspirants who are competing for the 44.654 places advertised by the Ministry of Education and Merit last December. The teacher applications they reached 304 thousand for high school and almost 70 thousand for childhood and primary school, with Lazio, Lombardy and Campania leading the regional preferences.

The selective procedure, divided between a rigorous written exam phase based on multiple choice questions and a subsequent one oral interview, constitutes an in-depth evaluation of required skills to aspiring teachers.
The pedagogical, psychopedagogical, methodological-didactic, linguistic and digital skills for teacher applications are subjected to careful analysis to guarantee a careful selection and qualified teaching staff.

For the winners of the selection, who participate without having the qualification and have at least 3 years of professional experience, a first fixed-term contract. During this period, they are required to acquire the 30 University Education Credits (CFU) required by the new qualifying path.
A similar process is also envisaged for teachers without qualifications but in possession of a degree and 24 ECTS credits, who are required to obtain further 36 credits within the first year of the fixed-term contract. This training and refresher phase consolidates the skills necessary for success in the professional path within the education system.
The chairs and the adaptation of the staff
Despite a forecast of 116 thousand fewer students within educational institutions, the Italian educational panorama is preparing for a next September without staff reductions teacher or classes.
Confirmation of this stability came directly from Minister of Education, Giuseppe Valditara, who ratified, through the organic decree 2024/2025, the immobility of the number of places available for permanent hiring, without making any changes at territorial level in the quotas.

The total number of professorships in the legal staff has been set at 670.441, divided into 620.239 for common positions and 50.202 for enhancement positions. The continuity of the 126.170 support places and flexibility instaff adaptation to the specific needs of schools remain unchanged compared to the previous year.
