On May 13, 2025, the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) announced the Italian locations awarded the Blue Flag, a recognition that rewards environmental excellence and the quality of services on beaches and tourist ports.

This year, 246 Italian municipalities received the prestigious flag, for a total of 487 beaches and 84 awarded tourist ports.
Blue Flag: Liguria at the top
La Liguria confirms its national leader, with 33 awarded locations, despite the loss of a Flag compared to the previous year. Among the new entries, Borgio Verezzi and Recco are worth mentioning, while Ameglia and Taggia were not reconfirmed.
Growth in Puglia and Calabria with Puglia which obtained 27 blue flags, with three new entries: Lecce, Manduria and Patù. Calabria has instead reached 23 recognitions, thanks to the addition of three new locations: Parghelia, Sellia Marina and Catanzaro.
The other regions
Other regions that stand out are Campania, which maintains 20 blue flags, with a new entry and a location that has not been reconfirmed, Marche, which rises to 20 awards, thanks to a new entry, while Tuscany reaches 19 blue flags with the addition of a new municipality. Sardinia gets 16 award-winning locations, with a new recognition.
