The Italian homes of Hollywood actors: a fashion that is anything but fleeting
Hollywood actors love Italy and its beauties very much, so much so that they can't stay away from them. The first to take this step was the famous singer Sting, which already in 1990 settled in Reel with his wife Trudy Styler. Subsequently, the former Police front man bought a beautiful and expensive villa in Figline and Incisa Valdarno, near Florence. From that moment, Tuscany in particular became the most desired place for American stars who wanted to relax a bit, enjoying the magnificent panorama.
Then followed in 2002 the famous George Clooney, which launched (even more than Sting) a real fashion. Without thinking for a moment he bought Villa Oleandra in Laglio, on the shores of Lake Como, and used it as a summer residence. For lovers of a less mature charm, then, there is also the dark and vampire protagonist of Twilight, Robert Pattinson, who decided to live in the city of Menaggio. Last but not least, the very recent Oscar winner Leonardo di Caprio, which he has preferred as a destination for his holidays to none other than the splendid city of Verona, with an inevitable penthouse overlooking the Arena.
The new trend of the holiday homes of the stars: Umbria and Lazio
In the wake of this all-Hollywood fashion, the Lazio and Umbria, places with an undeniable historical charm, and which have attracted the attention of many internationally renowned stars. Among them certainly stands out, the Prince of Bel Air, Will Smith! The talented actor has in fact purchased a farm in the province of Latina, precisely in Sermoneta, while in the north of Rome it is possible to meet the fascinating Orlando Bloom in the Giustiniana campaign, perhaps in version farmer. Picturesque Umbria has also enchanted many actors, such as Colin Firth and his wife, who immediately took steps to take a house in Città della Pieve. The famous filmmaker George Lucas, instead, he paid out six million euros to buy an ancient monastery in Passignano sul Trasimeno, which he restored and embellished.
However, if these two splendid regions stand out in the first places, there are also the stars who love the sunny and warm Apulian lands! In fact, Puglia hosts actresses of the caliber of Meryl Streep and Helen Mirren. Even Meryl Streep bought a house in Tricase, in order to stay a few steps from the Caribbean beaches of Puglia, while Mirren owns a farm in the Santa Maria di Leuca area. Some VIPs love Italy because they may have visited it and been able to enjoy its beauties, but there are others who even boast Italian origins. This is the case of the excellent director Francis Ford Coppola, who had distant relatives from the area of Lecce. In short, take a good look around, you might find yourself walking through the streets of your country, and see one of your favorite stars! Eye huh?
