There is an Italy that rolls up its sleeves, an Italy that believes in the beauty of solidarity. In Aosta, a group of retired doctors decided to transform their experience and passion into a concrete gift: free specialist visits for those in financial difficulty. This is how theRight to Health Association (DAS), a light of hope for many citizens in difficulty.
Right to Health Association, a story of solidarity
The initiative, officially presented on February 14, 2025 – a symbolic Valentine's Day – is the result of the will of 43 healthcare professionals, including 35 medical specialists, two psychologists, two nurses and a social worker. All united by a single goal: to guarantee the right to health to those who are most fragile.
From March 2025, the association will begin to welcome patients at the Pont-Suaz clinic in Charvensod, thanks to the collaboration with theAosta Valley Health Authority. Every Wednesday and Thursday afternoon, those who cannot afford specialist visits will be able to receive free treatment in 24 medical disciplines, including cardiology, endocrinology, orthopedics and urology.

Access to visits is simple and inclusive. Those who need assistance can book starting from March by calling the number 375-6871911. Furthermore, the association will collaborate with the Caritas and social services to identify patients who need help most.
Before each visit, an acceptance interview is scheduled, which will be held on Tuesdays and Fridays from 16:00 pm to 18:00 pm, to ensure attentive and personalized service.
An initiative that is good for the heart
This story has the authentic flavour of generosity. It is the triumph of medicine as a vocation, of professionals who, after a lifetime of work, choose to continue to heal with the heart. There is no business, there is no economic interest: only the desire to help.
An action that perfectly embodies the spirit of theArticle 32 of the Italian Constitution, which establishes health as a fundamental right of every individual. Because no one should be left behind when it comes to medical care.
