The woman was married to Philadelphia Pappalardo, Said Delphius, for 41 years, from 1979 until his passing on March 1, 2021, from pleural mesothelioma. Together they raised a family, instilling in their sons and daughters the values ​​of honesty and empathy towards others. A great love, lasting until his sad passing, which caused Anna deep pain. This was the step that led her to take up pen and paper again. For her, writing was a medicine to soothe the pain brought by the loss of her husband. So Anna Gurgone began writing her first poems for him, finding that writing of the verses the door to transform pain.

Anna, throughout her life, finds that suffering sharpens one's sensitivity and perception of oneself and the outside world, as well as one's moods, enabling her to better transcribe them with pen and paper. What Anna communicates through poetry and her cultural commitment
