On its final day the Taormina Film Festival, now in its 67th edition, pays homage to Franco Battiato: the philosopher of music. To remember the late singer-songwriter will be Francesca Michielin, one of the most popular interpreters of the Italian song of the moment. Signs of life, taken from The master's voice from 1981 is the piece by Battiato that Michielin will perform with her very personal piano and voice version.

Today, the last day of the festival, the documentary will be screened The three-pronged screen. A highly anticipated film that boasts the direction of Oscar winner Giuseppe Tornatore and the support of Sicily Film Commission. The latter financed the digitization of the film, which only exists in 35mm. The three-pronged screen it is an anthology, between the serious and the facetious, of the stereotypes on which cinema in the past has based the description of Sicily and the Sicilians.

The festival also pays homage to another great film: The ignorant fairies of the director Ferzan Ozpetek which is about to become a television series. Özpetek, after the screening he will entertain with the audience of the kermesse. Also today, at the end of the event, the festival is scheduled to meet the actor Salvatore Esposito, one of the protagonists of the famous film Gomorrah. To the audience of the festival Esposito will not talk about his latest film but about his novel The shaman, the noir published by Sperling & Kupfer released in bookstores a few weeks ago.

The evening will end with the awarding of the prizes Golden Charybdis to the best film, Charybdis of Silver to the best direction. The Polyphemus mask, awarded to the best actress and best leading actor. Prestigious awards made by the master goldsmith Michele Entrusted internationally renowned.
