Farewell to the football legend, Edson Arantes do Nascimento, known by all as Pele. The great sample he was 82 years old and had been battling colon cancer for some time. He was hospitalized and in the last few days the doctors had revealed that the former footballer was no longer responding to treatment.
Pele
Pelé, also known as 'o rei', is the only footballer in the world to have won three editions of the football world championship. Three amazing victories won with the Brazilian national team in 1958, 1962 and 1970. Fifa recognized him as the record for goals scored in his career, 1281 in 1363 games. While in official matches he scored 757 goals in 816 matches with an average of 0,93 goals per game. The Golden Ball it was awarded to him ad honorem in 2013: a symbolic recognition certainly due, but which adds nothing to an extraordinary champion who, on the field, built and fueled his legend.
