The Association for the Defense of the Environment and Health ADAS ONLUS is a non-profit organization of social utility registered in the Single Registry of the Onlus sector 1- social assistance and socio-health.

Our history

The Association for the Defense of the Environment and Health ADAS ONLUS was born in 2010. It is the courageous choice of a small group of people suffering from pathologies related to environmental pollution supported by family and friends; what they have in common is the awareness that the protection of the right to health is intimately related to the protection of the environment. Over the years, the number of members and supporters who share the social commitment and aims of the Association has grown and is now active throughout Italy thanks to the territorial coordination present in the various regions.

A healthy environment is a fundamental condition for guaranteeing the body the ability to perform the most natural functions such as breathing, feeding, purifying, reproducing, recovering energy.

Pollution forces the organism to an unnatural process of adaptation that undermines the self-defense capabilities and thus weakens the immune system, which alters the ordinary functions of organs and systems, which disrupts cellular metabolism, which triggers genetic and epigenetic mutations in the DNA which prove to be irreversible even in future generations. We are therefore committed at all levels and in all sectors of civil society so that the institutions, the medical profession, the school world, the citizens first of all acquire the awareness that the Environment is a common good to be respected and safeguarded and that Health is fundamental right to be protected and guaranteed unconditionally.

The commitment of ADAS

Aware of how serious the lack of epidemiological studies and adequate research in the sector is, we stimulate and support medical-scientific research aimed at identifying the environmental causes and contributing causes that trigger the state of disease and determine the onset of very serious pathologies: some of them are known, such as oncological pathologies (such as leukemia, lymphomas, tumors), autoimmune (such as thyroiditis, connective tissue diseases) and neurological (such as Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis ALS, Multiple Sclerosis) all of a degenerative nature; others, called "emerging environmental diseases", are still little known and underdiagnosed although they are in worrying growth (such as MCS Multiple Chemical Sensitivity, Electrosensitivity ES, Myalgic Encephalomyelitis ME, Fibromyalgia FM, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome CFS).

We offer information services, psychological support, consultancy activities and we implement forms of social assistance intervention, both through the supply of basic necessities and through the procurement of funds and grants, in favor of environmental patients in conditions of poverty and hardship. social, in order to help guarantee them a free and dignified existence.

Our mission

Our goals are therefore the goals of all those who consciously or unknowingly experience the tragedy of disease and marginalization, who are victims of the upheaval of the ecosystem and who see their need for health mortified. civil rights, we demand respect for equal opportunities, we carry out projects of solidarity and social inclusion. Aware that the best system to avoid the onset of pathological states is prevention, we promote healthy lifestyles respecting the environment and of health.

We want to make our activity widespread and increasingly incisive within the social fabric, for this reason we are happy to welcome all those who share our fundamental goal into the Association: to make the life of all those worth living. who suffer from "Environmental Pathologies".
