In Luserna San Giovanni, in the metropolitan city of Turin, the historic Fair of Saints born 700 years ago is back. The traditional folk festival is scheduled for Tuesday 1 and Wednesday 2 November. The mayor of the Piedmontese town, Duilio Canale explains that “unlike many others dedicated to the great agriculture of the plains, this festival is in fact dedicated to farmers. To their animals and to those who carry out agricultural work in mountainous and hilly areas. The Fair of the Saints
On Tuesday XNUMXst November it will be possible to taste the specialties of seven cheese producers and four bakers of the Valley, of four butchers of Luserna San Giovanni. And a producer of jams and honey and a wine producer from Bricherario. The heart of the fair will be all in the area of the sports facilities of Luserna San Giovanni and in the wide lawns that surround it. In these spaces theexhibition of typical local food and wine products, machinery, agricultural accessories, work and technical clothing and saddlery items. The exhibition area will also host the zootechnical and commercial exhibition scheduled for Wednesday 2nd in the morning.
Adjacent to the exhibition area, the 'didactic farm' will be set up during the two days of the festival, which attracts the attention of adults and children every year. In addition to observing the animals, the public will be able to try their hand at estimating the toma and lamb and visit the ornithological exhibition. And while the children, on the afternoon of Tuesday 1, will compete in a competition of mini round bales of hay, among the adults the one who is more skilled in milking during the afternoon of Wednesday 2 will win.
