Inside the Council Chamber of Palace of the Elephants the event was held in Catania second edition of the Sikelòs Award, born from theSikelos Association which enhances the Sicilian excellence in the world and aims to raise awareness of history, culture, personalities, and heritage at an international level.
The Sikelos Association
The Sikelos cultural association, born from an idea of Andrea Finocchiaro, Christmas Duster e Joseph Milazzo united by the desire and will to promote Sicily and Sicilians in every way. It is a non-profit association, active since 2021 with the aim of to promote and protect the Sicilian territory giving support to young of business creation in Sicily, making use of agreements with expert professionals in the field, all for avoid new migratory flows from our country to abroad and thus grow the territory. From this intent the project of branching out across the island was born with Several professionals are responsible for the various Sicilian provinces. In addition, other professionals from the worlds of culture, economics, and administration contribute freely, offering their expertise to the association.
All this in order to promote, boost, develop e disclose la Sicilianness in the world from the following perspectives: cultural, touristic, artistic, food and wine, literary, scientific, etc., through events, seminars, conferences, guided tours, tasting dinners.
The symbol of Sikelòs
The name comes from a reference to ancient Greek mythology. Sikelòs refers to the original founder of the Sicel people.
The symbol used in the association's logo is our Trinacria colored with the blue of our sea and the red and yellow that characterize our Sicily, inserted inside a triangle also colored with the same colors.

Sikelòs aims to promote and introduce into the foreign market those Sicilian companies that conceive excellent products Made in Sicily; to recognize the best Sicilian excellences, both locally and internationally, that is, those who have elevated the Sicilian region's reputation, awarding them a specific prize in collaboration with provincial and regional institutions; to create and strengthen entrepreneurship in Sicily by promoting training and encouraging business creation, and to create a network of professionals, companies, and members to help each other through the support and unity of the association.
Sikelòs Award
Sikelos rewards excellence of Sicily: men, women, businesses, and associations who have made Sicily great. From this intent, the Sikelòs Award andEncomium SikelòsThe Award is given annually; each year, the municipal administrations of the individual Sicilian provinces nominate the recipient who has distinguished himself or herself in promoting his or her province. This recognition recognizes the Sicilian excellence and craftsmanship that bring the island's name to the fore.

The Sikelòs Encomium
The commendation is an award that is presented throughout the year and is aimed at those individuals, companies, or associations that promote the growth of the territory. The first edition of the award was held on September 18, 2021, inside the Palazzo degli Elefanti.

La 2nd Edition of the AwardThe meeting, held on Saturday, March 11, in the council chamber of the Palazzo degli Elefanti, seat of the Etna Municipality, in the presence of the former president of the civic assembly and regional deputy Giuseppe Castiglione, the current president of the civic council Sebastiano Anastasi, and the municipal councilor Alessandro Campisi, was attended by a large turnout and great emotion.
It is considered the Award "to Sicily that works and produces”. The ceremony was hosted by Marcello Proietto Di Silvestro, president of Ristoworld Italy, who shared the feedback received from all of the island's municipal administrations regarding the selection of recipients of the coveted award.
