Pope Francis has made his known health state during the first audience broadcast in the Vatican press room with the European Rabbis, an announcement that captured the attention of the world. The Pontiff, known for his dedication to interreligious dialogue and peace, declared in a tired voice: “Good morning, I greet you all and welcome you. The Pope stated that “not weapons, not terrorism, not war, but compassion, justice and dialogue are the appropriate means to build peace.” He strongly condemned the anti-Semitic demonstrations that emerged following the conflict in the Middle East.
In the afternoon meeting with 7 thousand children
The meeting with children, scheduled for the afternoon, will involve over seven thousand children from 84 different countries. These children will have the opportunity to share theirs hopes and worries for the future and ask questions to the Pope. The initiative will take place in the Paul VI Hall in the Vatican.
This unique event is sponsored by the Dicastery for Culture and Education and is organized in collaboration with various organisations, including the Community of Sant'Egidio, the Cooperativa Auxilium, Trenitalia and Busitalia (companies of the Fs Italiane Group), as well as with the support of other important entities.
The initiative is accompanied by the publication of the "Children's Encyclical", a book written by Father Enzo Fortunato and Aldo Cagnoli with a preface by Pope Francis. This book offers a glimpse into younger people in a period marked by conflict, promoting hope and peace.
