From September 3rd to 6th, the Coca-Cola Pizza Village comes to the capital for the first time, along the Lungotevere between Ponte Garibaldi and Ponte Cestio, directly opposite Tiber Island. Four evenings of tastings, cooking demonstrations, and music, part of the "Lungo il Tevere... Roma" (Along the Tiber... Rome) program, will feature some of the most famous names in Neapolitan pizza, ready to bake along the riverbanks.

Among the pizza chefs already confirmed are Errico Porzio, Vincenzo Capuano, the historic Antica Pizzeria da Michele, and Santini-Pizzeria Romana, representing Roman tradition alongside Neapolitan tradition. The menu, in addition to classics like marinara and margherita, will also feature special creations designed for the occasion, with prices starting at €18. The event is open every evening from 6:00 p.m. until midnight.
It's not just about pizza. The Coca-Cola area features three experiential zones. Interactive games, a photo booth with personalized GIFs, and a space to decorate canvas bags with limited-edition pins and stickers, as well as hands-on classes for adults on leavening and toppings led by industry experts, and a recycling station created in collaboration with CIAL.
The Pizza Village was born on the Naples seafront. Here, its organizers describe it as a sort of "World Championship for master pizza makers." Its most popular editions have exceeded one million visitors in ten days, so much so that its organizers compare it to mass events like the Rio Carnival or Oktoberfest. In Naples itself, in 2016, a group of pizza makers broke the Guinness Book of Records by making the world's longest pizza. Over two kilometers of dough were rolled out along the seafront, a record still cited as one of the event's defining moments.
In recent years, the format has begun to travel. After international stops in Berlin and London, the Rome debut marks the Pizza Village's first real arrival in the Italian capital, bringing to the Tiber the same blend of craftsmanship, select ingredients, and entertainment that has made the event a must-see for enthusiasts.
In anticipation of this Roman edition, several master pizza chefs have publicly spoken out against the use of artificial intelligence in pizza making, emphasizing the value of artisanal gestures and manual skill as an essential part of tradition. This theme, coupled with the ongoing debate on AI in the kitchen, has been a major focus of the event's presentation more than expected.
For those in Rome between September 3rd and 6th, Lungotevere degli Anguillara becomes a must-see for lovers of Neapolitan pizza who want to experience the work of some of the industry's most award-winning names, in a picturesque setting with Tiber Island in the background.
