All set for the 2025 Japanese Grand Prix, the third Formula 1 race of the season scheduled for next Sunday, April 6, on the legendary Suzuka circuit. An event that comes two weeks after the China race and that opens a trio of races on the Asian continent, before Bahrain and Saudi Arabia. A track with the characteristic shape of an “8” with an underpass and an overpass, over a distance of over five kilometers and which includes 53 laps for a total distance of over 300 thousand kilometers.

After the second race of the championship, British driver Lando Norris of McLaren leads the drivers' standings with 44 points, 8 ahead of Dutchman Max Verstappen of Red Bull Racing, second, and 9 ahead of fellow countryman George Russell of Mercedes, third. In the constructors' standings, McLaren leads with 78 points, followed by Mercedes with 57 and Red Bull Racing with 18.

Disappointing performances in Australia and China: for Ferrari, Hamilton and Leclerc could have a lot to work for to win the Grand Prix, whose favorite remains Norris, followed by Verstappen. After the free sessions, no penalties on the starting grid for Max Verstappen, Yūki Tsunoda and Isack Hadjar, who saw the second unit installed on the car relating to the exhaust system. The new components, however, are among those that can be used in the maximum number allowed. It did not go so well, however, for Mercedes, fined 100 euros by the Federation as Andrea Kimi Antonelli exceeded the maximum speed established inside the pit lane.
Ferrari at Friday session
Ferrari summoned by the stewards, along with Aston Martin. Both teams did not respect the instructions of the race director regarding the entry of the cars into the pit lane: the British Lewis Hamilton is therefore under observation, with a warning. For the driver, however, satisfaction after testing different set-ups, at the end of this Friday in Suzuka.
For Ferrari, last triumph more than 20 years ago
Ferrari has seven wins on this circuit. The last triumph of the Maranello team dates back to 2004, at the time of the unforgettable Michael Schumacher. Since then, McLaren has equalled this record with victories by Kimi Räikkönen in 2005 and Jenson Button in 2011.
