“We are the Ecosexuals. The Earth is our lover. We are madly, passionately, and fiercely in love and we are grateful for it every day. In order to create a mutual and sustainable relationship with the Earth, we collaborate with nature. We treat the Earth with kindness, respect and affection. ". This is what the first point of the Ecosexual Manifesto says. This movement aims to promote respect for nature by making it sexier.
Ecosexuals of Italy unite!
The ecosexual movement originated in the United States, but is rapidly spreading also in Italy and in the rest of the world. According to the Google search engine, this movement would have more than 100.000 activists around the globe to date. It is not yet known how many followers of this new fashion there are in Italy, but their number is certainly growing.
What Do Ecosexuals Do?
The activists of this movement make love in nature and with nature. These are sexual acts in the earth, among the leaves, but not only between partners of the same species. Ecosexuals also have erotic relationships with trees, the sea and the air. The purpose of these people is to create a new way of looking at ecology to save the planet from pollution.
Ecosexuality in history
In reality, what ecosexuals say is not new. In history one can find countless examples of sexual practices that linked man to the natural environment. Thus in some parts of the world it was possible to witness the ritual of depositing sperm on earth. This would have ensured the fertility of the fields in the following season. Even the Dionysian rites had the same root and like them many other rites from different cultures.
Marry the world to save it
“We embrace the revolutionary tactics of art, music, poetry, humor and sex. We work and play tirelessly for justice and global peace on Earth ”, reads the manifesto of the ecosexuals. A non-violent movement that aims for peace and respect for all forms of life can only be a good thing. And who knows, maybe one day the human race will truly choose to marry the Earth and respect it.
