Christmas is coming to all Italian cities. How to prepare for Christmas 2024 in Messina? The Sicilian city is expected to have an extraordinary program, which promises to enchant residents and visitors with events that combine culture, entertainment and tradition. From 14 to 16 December, the city will be transformed into a stage of magical and evocative experiences, with three main events that will lead citizens to discover historic places and fairytale atmospheres: “Come to the Palace”, “Christmas at the Station” and “The Enchanted Villas”. These initiatives, organized by the Municipal Administration of Messina in collaboration with local authorities, associations and private partners, are a unique opportunity to rediscover the artistic and cultural heritage of the city in a new, engaging and participatory way.
In the various activities prepared for the holidays, the historic villas of Messina dress up for the holidays, transforming into enchanting settings thanks to Christmas decorations and light installations. This initiative, which involves families and visitors of all ages, creates a magical setting that will make everyone experience moments of pure wonder.
The Presentation at Palazzo Zanca
The program was officially presented to Palazzo Zanca, in the presence of the mayor Federico Basile, the councilors Alessandra Calafiore and Enzo Caruso, and the president of Messina Social City, Valeria Asquini. The event saw the participation of numerous representatives of the organizations involved, including Ivo Blandina, president of the Chamber of Commerce of Messina, and Nico Pandolfino, head of the FAI Messina delegation. Mayor Basile emphasized how these events represent an opportunity to experience Messina in a new way, discovering its history, its culture and its traditions.
An inclusive and participatory Christmas: the calendar of events
One of the most important aspects of this Christmas program is inclusiveness. - 19:00-22:00 pm: “Come to the Palace” (guided tours of historic buildings).
- 17:00-20:30 pm: Inauguration of the “Inside Out” space and thematic exhibition at the Central Station.
Sunday December 15
- 9am-30pm and 13pm-00pm: Entertainment for children and families at the Station.
- 9:00-20:00: Thematic exhibitions curated by the Sicilian Railways Association.
Monday December 16
- 18:00-22:00 pm: “Food & Wine at Binario 1” with tastings and show cooking.
