After the inauguration which took place on 14 April 2023, we are thinking about how to make it usable and safe Gate of Beauty , Butterfly Gate in the neighborhood Booklet. Thanks to artistic and monumental works by Antonio Presti which has been working in the outskirts of CataniaLibrino attracts interest, often only political, but now also tourist. The aim of the municipal council, therefore, is to give urban decorum to the area and insert a video surveillance which marks the entire perimeter of the great monument.
A "greener" Librino: the project has already been approved
The project has been approved and, with approximately €1,6 million in EU funding from the National Operational Programme for Metropolitan Cities for Sustainable Development, aims to provide a significant redevelopment near the two projects. The route to be redeveloped will be approximately 1 km, based on the plan drawn up and confirmed by the Municipal Environment Directorate. Furthermore, new trees will be planted (quercus or jacaranda, herbaceous plants) and irrigation and lighting systems, a refreshment area and benches lining Viale Nitta were created.
The City Council takes care of the Beauty Gate and Butterfly Gate.
This is a project that we will soon see coming to fruition, as the tender process is underway to select the contractor who will open the construction site within the year. The improvement and enhancement of the environmental quality of the urban context and the reduction of environmental degradation aim to maximize the effects of the landscape redevelopment process and social that the work carried out by the Antonio Presti Foundation has undoubtedly triggered in Librino, a grandiose project for which the city is grateful.
The new Viale Nitta will be made safer by the installation of a video surveillance system even if the real strength of the project will have to be that spirit of participation and sense of shared responsibility that from the beginning has animated the creation of the monumental works, heritage of the citizens of Librino and Catania as a whole.”, explained the current Mayor of Catania Trantino and Councilor Tomarchio.
