A day dedicated to prayer, meditation, and the protection of the Mother of God. Today, October 7, the Church celebrates the Memorial of Our Lady of the Rosary, one of the most beloved and heartfelt Marian feasts among Christians.
On this day, with the recitation of the Holy Rosary, or Marian Crown, the faithful invoke the protection of the Holy Mother of God and meditate on the mysteries of Christ, accompanied by Mary, who was uniquely and profoundly united to the incarnation, passion, and resurrection of the Son of God.
The power of the Rosary in the history of faith
The Virgin Mary has repeatedly confirmed, even through miraculous events, the great efficacy and beauty of this prayer. In particular, in the apparitions of Lourdes and Fatima, Our Lady appeared with the Rosary in her hands, inviting humanity to prayer, conversion, and peace.
The Rosary, in fact, is not just a repetitive formula, but a chain of faith and love that binds the hearts of believers to the heart of Mary and, through her, to the very heart of Christ. A simple and profound prayer, the Rosary is undoubtedly one of the simplest and most cherished devotions in Christian tradition. It is composed of prayers that every child learns from an early age: the Our Father, taught by Jesus himself to his disciples; the Hail Mary, born from the words of the Archangel Gabriel and Saint Elizabeth; the Gloria, a song of praise and thanksgiving to the Holy Trinity.
In a time of war, pray for peace
These prayers, recited with love and faith, are intertwined like spiritual pearls around the meditation on the mysteries of the lives of Jesus and Mary.
Today in Italy and all Christians, a long-awaited holiday is celebrated. In a time sadly filled with war and conflict, it is important to pray for peace.
