The Confluentes Cultural Association was born from the desire to promote the human and cultural growth of the community through "the promotion and organization of cultural, but also recreational, social, welfare and voluntary activities and in general any initiative that can enhance the territory and support the improvement of the quality of life in the Conflente community ".
Many cultural events, starting with Mother's Day dedicated to Mamma Carmela Borello di Sersale, to which the poet Butera, moved by the story of her sacrifice of maternal love, dedicated a poignant elegy, and Conflenti in mask with the participation of the Planet Dance dance school in Conflenti, up to the First Day of Legality in memory of the Conflenti Judge Francesco Ferlaino, in collaboration with the Conflenti Trekking Association, Don Panizza and the boys of the “And now kill us all” movement.
"Culture is the only good of humanity which, if divided among all, instead of decreasing it becomes greater."
Among the most consolidated initiatives there is also the Regional Competition of dialectal poetry "Vittorio Butera", which takes place every year at the end of August August since 2012, now in its 5th edition, and conceived, not only to make known the poet Butera at 360 degrees, but also our culture and our traditions far beyond the borders of Conflenti. Among the latest events we remember, among other things, the Tribute to Butera in the Literary Salotto of the Pellegrini Terrace in Cosenza in collaboration with the Association "I Tridici Canali" and the Presentation of the debut novel by Sante Roperto "The Night in which the animals speak ".
The innumerable activities of our association therefore tend towards the rediscovery of our local “Excellences”, of the values and traditions of the past, also adapted in a post-modern key to make them more permeable to future generations.
But to ensure that culture is truly an instrument of progress and civilization, continuous promotion is obviously necessary, as well as adequate structures and a lot of collaboration on the part of citizens and local institutions.
