Artificial Intelligence Revolutionizes Smart Mobility: Car Sharing Has (Already) Conquered 26% of the Population
A change of direction towards sustainability. Over a third of Italians say they have increased their use of green means of transport: a decisive turning point compared to just five years ago.
THEInfographic "AI and Green Energy: The Intelligent Combination for Sustainable Mobility” di That Energy has allowed us to identify the main reasons behind this change. At the top, the new institutional approach (79%), followed by greater attention to the environment (77%) and the desire to reduce pollution caused by cars (73%).
This trend fits perfectly into the Smart Mobility revolution, a sector where advanced technologies are integrated with sustainable solutions to improve mobility in terms of efficiency and safety.
We are talking about an innovative approach, which is part of the general discussion of the Smart City, and which is characterised by some tools in particular: among others, artificial intelligence, IoT sensors, digital platforms and real-time data.
And precisely in the digital transition of the Smart City, AI is carving out an increasingly prominent place for itself, especially from the point of view of mobility.
By optimizing traffic, for example, but also by coordinating different means of transport. And again, by improving the use and charging of electric vehicles, as well as the timing of their maintenance.
Finally, artificial intelligence becomes essential also to improve ride-sharing services, with the consequent reduction of vehicles in circulation.
In this regard, car sharing, used by 26% of the population, is emerging as an increasingly popular solution, as is bike and scooter sharing (23%).
However, private bicycles (48%) and walking (43%) remain the most popular sustainable means of transport adopted by Italians. The percentage relating to the use of electric bicycles is lower (25%).
