August 20th, impressive whirlwind in Santa Maria di Leuca [THE PHOTO]

Bad weather was expected today in Puglia and the forecasts turned out to be spot on. In fact, quite strong weather events occurred, with thunderstorms and hailstorms in some areas. In Merine, near Lecce, lightning struck a palm tree, setting it on fire.

In Santa Maria di Leuca, a strong whirlwind was recorded this morning, 20 August 2024, which approached the beach but fortunately remained far from people and homes. Below is the photo
